Croak

A short film about a lost frog looking for love in all the wrong places.

Croak follows a lonesome frog on a quest through the wilderness in search of connection. Making this short film I wanted to capture the all too relatable story, through a lighthearted narrative in a colorful and squishy packaging.

Color played a big part in establishing the design language of the film, giving it a unique and vibrant identity. The environments creating a tranquil ambience that is contrasted by the inquisitive amphibian.
I wanted the frog to be expressive and malleable, reducing the design down to the most simplified form it could take. Creating a highly emotive blob of a character for us to root for during its confused and perhaps somewhat desperate attempts at wooing.

The film was featured in AIGA Eye on Design and screened at Cardiff Animation Festival and  AnimaFilm.
