SAND


A rebrand where playful meets polished.


Directing the rebrand for SAND was an incredible opportunity to get down to the nitty gritty and establish a brand new visual identity for the creative studio.

Specialising in stop motion and product photography, they were looking for a complete brand overhaul starting with clarifying the company values and expression. High quality, tactility and storytelling is at the heart of their studio, and were a crucial part when defining the ethos and tone of voice.

Originally known as Sand Visuals, part of redefining the brand was moving into a simpler, cleaner space, landing in the new name SAND. This new name and what it represented became a stepping stone when moulding the brand. Building a foundation that blends the curious creativity of the sandbox with the precise and refined act of sanding, leading to the company tagline, ‘Where playful meets polished’.

For the logo we wanted to create something brand new, bold and memorable. Creating a striking logotype with a silhouetted pyramid blending seamlessly into the letterforms, offering a playful twist. The pyramid becoming synonymous with SAND, representing wonder, craft, and timelessness.

When choosing the color palette, we opted for earthy, warm and soft tones with connections to sand and nature. Both sophisticated and playful, the balanced palette offers a varied and distinctive profile with a contemporary feel.

Reinventing the visual identity, with brand recognisability in mind, we defined a photographic language that was motivated and intentional. Using soft colors and leaning into tactile and grainy film photography, harking back to the sand motif permeating the new brand.
